Is a gluten-free diet healty??
Well my friends, that all depends on the reason you’re entertaining this way of eating in the first place.
If you have celiac disease, which is an autoimmune disease and not an allergy, then yes eating a 100% gluten-free diet is not just a healthier diet for you but also serves as your primary medicine. If you notice that you feel much better after eliminating gluten from your life or have a non-celiac gluten intolerance then awesome keep listening to your body and steer clear of gluten! But if you are looking to lose weight or think that ditching gluten will just spruce up your overall health, then no a gluten-free diet is ABSOLUTELY not a healthier choice. In fact gluten-free diets tend to be deficient in several vitamins and minerals.
So if you don’t have celiac or non-celiac gluten intolerance there are so many other ways to attain optimal health without eliminating ALL gluten containing grains.
Let me tell ya, from a person that has celiac and has been eating gluten-free for over a decade, if you don’t need to live with a gluten restriction WHY oh WHY would ya?
